dc.description.abstract A Surgical site infection is a preventable hospital-acquired infection. Surgical site infections remained a significant cause of morbidity, prolonged hospitalization, and death. Globally, SSI rates have been estimated to range from 2.5% to 41.9%, with much higher rates in developing nations. Surgical site infection is the most expensive health-related infection, costing $3.3 billion annually. Multiple studies were conducted in Ethiopia on it; however, these studies did not delve into the institutional factors that affect nurses surgical site infection prevention practice. en_US
